The South Dakota State Library is seeking feedback from the public before writing its next five-year strategic plan this summer.
Citizens, teachers, school administrators, City leaders, librarians, and library trustees are encouraged to attend an open forum to discuss the future of library services in South Dakota. Meetings will be held in Sioux Falls as follows:
- Friday, March 22, 2019, 10 a.m., Siouxland Libraries Downtown Library, 200 North Dakota Avenue
- Friday, March 22, 2019, 2 p.m., Siouxland Libraries Downtown Library, 200 North Dakota Avenue
- Saturday, March 23, 2019, 10:30 a.m., Siouxland Libraries Caille Branch, 4100 South Carnegie Circle
Forums are also being held in Pierre, Rapid City, and Aberdeen.
The results of a statewide survey will be discussed with Pat Wagner of Research Patterns, Colorado Springs, CO, as facilitator. The current SDSL strategic plan and current federal LSTA five-year plan may be viewed at library.sd.gov/SDSL/publications/index.aspx under Plans.
